Florida – PB Inlet dredging set to begin Monday, weather permitting – Palm Beach Daily News

PALM BEACH, FL – A contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to begin dredging the Palm Beach Inlet Monday, weather permitting.The Army Corps, which is responsible for keeping the inlet’s navigation channel open, has awarded a $ 1.4 million contract to Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting Company of Quincy, Mass. The contract calls for removal of between 60,000 and 125,000 cubic yards of sand. The contractor will work around the clock and is expected to complete the job in about 30 days, the Corps said.
