On this episode of the Local Control Podcast, Peter Ravella sits down with Reuben Trevino, Director of Operations for the 28 miles of beaches in Galveston,Texas.  Reuben is a true coastal pro who works in the trenches to manage, restore, and maintain the beaches in the busiest beach town in Texas.  It's a huge job.  He manages 100 employees during the peak season and must be sure the beaches are "just right" for the 7 million visitors who cross the Galveston Island Causeway each year.  Peter and Reuben cover everything from picking up the trash and managing public accesses to the planning, permitting and construction of multi-million dollar beach nourishment projects and the innovative technology under development to replace sand lost to erosion.
