Taking us on this journey of true collaboration to understand and protect the Great Lakes, is Ms. Deborah Lee who is the director of GLERL. Ms. Lee contributes her 37 years of professional experience in water resources and ecosystem research and management at NOAA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to GLERL. As director, she conducts integrated scientific research on the Great Lakes and coastal ecosystems. Prior to this position, Deborah served as the Chief of Water Management for the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - which got her into flood control and oversight of Great Lakes regulation. She is a licensed professional engineer, certified professional hydrologist and board certified by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. Most importantly, Debbie has her bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering from The Ohio State University (OHIO) and post grad studies at the University of Michigan (Let’s go Blue)!
